Traditional Media vs. Alternative Media
Up until about a year ago mobile advertising was lumped into a category called Alternative Media. Anything that was not part of the "Traditional" mix of advertising on TV, Radio or fixed location billboards was considered Alternative Media. In many ways alternative media was considered almost a secondary choice when TV, radio or billboards were not available or feasible.
Today the mindset of most major brand marketers and local advertisers alike has changed dramatically to include mobile advertising and several other forms of out-of-home advertising as the PRIMARY choice for branding and calling consumers to action.
